One of the best things about our job here at Separk Mansion is being able to meet and mingle with some of the most talented professionals in the Charlotte area. We love learning about new trends, how brides are keeping traditions, and everything in-between. We want to bring that information to our Brides and Readers so we’ve started the Separk Spotlight Series.
Our first Spotlight is on one of our very own talented employees, Charlotte Wedding Planner Erin Walters. Erin graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Communications and a minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management. During her time in the number two wedding destination in the US, She interned for a well-known local planner, gaining valuable knowledge about the industry and all it entails. She also interned with Charleston Weddings Magazine, and composed a handful of articles for their website, as well as their Spring 2014 print issue. She started working at Separk Mansion as the Event Manager at the beginning of this year and we are so impressed with her knowledge of the wedding industry and how she is able to handle any request thrown her way. We are thrilled to share a little insight from this extremely talented lady!
What is your favorite part about working with brides and in the wedding industry as a Charlotte Wedding Planner?
As cliche as it sounds, I think one of my favorite things about working in the weddings industry is getting to be a part of the happiest day of a couple’s lives. It’s rewarding to see months of work and planning culminate into one flawless affair, and to witness the beginning of the bride and groom’s new life together. On the occasion that something unexpected does occur, it’s thrilling to quickly problem-solve a solution to ensure a successful event.
What do you you see for big trends and styles this wedding season? Do you see any big transitions that will probably grow into the 2016 season?
This wedding season I think we’ve really seen a transition in trends and style from last year. We’ve (thankfully) begun to migrate away from mason jar mocktails and rustic, burlap runners and step into something a little more elegant and romantic. Classic color palettes of neutrals and ivories with the occasional pop of pastel or metallic have really shimmied up the chic-factor, while still remaining tasteful and timeless. I think that brides are realizing that they want to showcase their wedding–frame the photos to proudly display them for future generations to admire. They want to remember and relive their Big Day all the time, not embarrassingly tuck it away in an album to be dusted off every anniversary.
How can Brides achieve this new Elegant and Romantic look for their Big Day?
If a bride wants to achieve the sophisticated and classic look, perhaps the most important factor is the venue she chooses to set the scene for her Big Day. From my perspective (which admittedly, may be a tad bit biased), Separk Mansion is the perfect venue for 2015-2016 brides. It offers all of the aspects needed to make a bride’s Big Day as elegant and timeless as possible. From the sparkling chandeliers that decorate the main ballroom, to the grand staircase designed for nothing but the most magnificent entrances, Separk provides the perfect setting for simply stunning weddings.
Erin speaks the truth! We’ve seen this trend time and time again at Separk Mansion and other top bridal sites are recommending it too! Check out some trendy articles below on this trend comeback:
